TRON: Ares marks Disney’s bold return to its iconic sci-fi saga, an electrifying story that blurs the line between man and machine, exploring what happens when artificial intelligence crosses into the human world.

For Oscar®-nominated director Joachim Rønning, crafting TRON: Ares meant honoring the film’s visionary legacy while pushing it into new, timely territory. “The bar was really high,” he shares. “I wanted to design something new, but familiar. What drew me to the project was the mix of the digital and real worlds. Having a Program exist in the real world was interesting for me—I hadn’t seen that before. And the idea of Ares finding out what it means to be human was fascinating.”

Meanwhile, Oscar®-winning actor Jared Leto steps into the role of Ares, a sentient program forced to confront humanity on its own terms. “I’m a TRON super fan,” Leto says. “It captured my imagination and showed me a world I never imagined before. It was this combination of technology and creativity that really attracted me.”

Joining Leto is a powerhouse cast of equally acclaimed performers, led by Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Greta Lee as Eve Kim, Emmy® winner Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger, and Jodie Turner-Smith as Athena. The ensemble also includes Hasan Minhaj as Ajay Singh, Arturo Castro as Seth, Emmy® winner Gillian Anderson as Elisabeth Dillinger, Cameron Monaghan as Caius, and Oscar® winner Jeff Bridges returning as the legendary Kevin Flynn.

With its signature neon visuals, breathtaking action, and a story that mirrors our own world’s relationship with technology, TRON: Ares is both a continuation and a reimagining of a groundbreaking legacy.
