'That Kind of Love' is a serviceable kind of romcom | Movie Review

A story about two imperfect people entangled by fate because of their search for love. The Love Coach extraordinaire, who profiles and points out the flaws of a conceited man who deems himself as Mr. Perfect, ends up in a deal to find him a match.

Thoughts: The setup is standard for a romcom, featuring the usual over-the-top elements where characters have plenty of time to search for love. Barbie Forteza is what makes this film work; she never fails to make the most of the material she's given. David Licauco, to be fair, makes a genuine effort to match Forteza's skills, and there is chemistry between them. However, the problem is that his character doesn’t fully align with the description. While Forteza's character calls him conceited, the film devotes time to portraying him as "perfect," which I find a bit odd, given that what Licauco is doing is already fine.

As for the romance, everything eventually comes together, tied up with a pretty bow. Fortunately, Forteza and Licauco make it work—enough to deem it perfectly fine. 2.5/5
