It's JMFyang's time once more.
Regal Films' recent rom-com, Almost Us, secured the third spot on the local Top 10 movie chart during its premiere week on Netflix. The Dan Villegas-directed film, starring JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, opened to promising numbers for a newbie loveteam back in May. The film was also the top-performing opener during the tracking week, beating fellow newcomers such as Alpha and Wolf Man.
In the film, RR (Ibarra) has always been in love with his best friend, Janine (Smith). But she’s infatuated with Kenzo (Dustin Yu), the star of her own fan fiction. When he finds a way for Janine to meet Kenzo, will he risk his own happiness just for her to have her own happiness?
Meanwhile, the top spot belonged once again to Jun Robles Lana's dramedy Call Me Mother. The Vice Ganda–Nadine Lustre film opened at No. 1 on the service last week.
