'Someone, Someday' tops Netflix PH for third straight week; 'Manila's Finest' debuts at No. 9

Kathryn Bernardo-led series Someone, Someday once again emerged as the most-watched series on Netflix Philippines for the third consecutive week. During the tracking week of August 3-9, 2026, the series managed to hold on to the top spot despite the debut of the new South Korean series Our Sticky Love, which entered the chart at No. 2.

Over at the movies, MMFF 2025 entry Manila's Finest debuts at ninth place on the streaming service—a decent start for a period thriller, a genre rarely made anymore in the country. In the film, set during the first quarter storm in the 1970s, three policemen are consumed by the murder case of troublemaking teenagers in the slums. Directed by Raymond Red from a screenplay written by Michiko Yamamoto, Moira Lang, Sherad Anthony Sanchez, the film stars Piolo Pascual.
