The highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 blockbuster opened to $376,867 (est. ₱22 million) over the Easter weekend, although it only played for two days within the tracking period (April 1–5, 2026). While this is admittedly lower than its predecessor’s $1 million debut, it is worth noting that The Super Mario Bros. Movie did not open during Easter weekend in its release year. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see whether the sequel posts a minimal decline or even an increase in the next tracking week.
In better news, having opened on Black Saturday, the film set a new record for the biggest opening-day gross of the year with ₱12 million, surpassing recent releases such as The Loved One (₱6 million, Wednesday).
Also affected by mall closures during Holy Week, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come fell 62% this week, grossing $124K (est. ₱7 million). In two weeks, the sequel has already earned $707K (est. ₱42 million) in the country.
Competing with Mario, Hoppers earned $23K (est. ₱1.37 million) this week, down 72% from last week. The Disney and Pixar original has now collected $1.36 million (est. ₱81 million) locally. Meanwhile, adding $80 this week, Hamnet has now made $35,846 (₱2.13 million) over seven weeks.
