Never doubt James Cameron. 20th Century Studios' Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to chug along in the Philippines despite the presence of MMFF 2025.

Filipinos continue to revisit Pandora, as Fire & Ash raked in $518,856 (₱30 million) in the country from December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026. In three weeks, the film has already made $4,783,533 (₱282 million).
While that is a hefty sum, it pales in comparison to The Way of Water during the same period, which collected $6,937,082. Obviously, the third entry didn’t have the 13-year buildup that the sequel enjoyed, but it also didn’t help that Fire & Ash was only able to play for one full weekend before MMFF 2025 due to the calendar. With MMFF 2022 falling on a Sunday, The Way of Water was still able to play for another weekend, even if not fully.
Nevertheless, the latest total puts it above The Fantastic Four: First Steps ($4,377,675) as the top-grossing Disney release of 2025 and one of the highest grossing films in the Philippines in 2025.
