Fatrick Tabada's fantasy comedy opened at #2 on the local film chart. Produced by OctoberTrain Films, CreaZion Studios, and The IdeaFirst Company, the film stars Sue Ramirez, Martin del Rosario, Jameson Blake, Maxie Andreison, KaladKaren, Donna Cariaga and Mae Paner. It’s a solid debut for an R-16 comedy, a type of film that is rarely made in the country.
In the film, a woman's cruel actions toward a trans person trigger a mystical punishment, leaving her without her most intimate body part. Now she races against time with a magical flower to find genuine love and break the spell.
The first spot actually belonged to Netflix original animated film, In Your Dreams, which is currently on its second week on the service.
Erik Matti’s black-and-white version of Honor Thy Father also made an appearance on the service. The John Lloyd Cruz–led thriller opened in tenth place during the tracking week. This version was released exclusively in SM Cinema last September to mark the film’s tenth anniversary.
In the film, Edgar (Cruz) and Kaye (Meryll Soriano) lose their entire fortune, along with those of their friends, in a huge Ponzi scheme. As a result, they deal with harsh criticism and dangerous threats from everyone around them.
