Box Office: PH heats up as 'Meet, Greet & Bye' tugs at hearts — and earns ₱33 million in 3 days

Before the arrival of Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2, the Philippines' box office is already heating up once again thanks to Star Cinema’s latest drama, Meet, Greet & Bye.

Cathy Garcia-Sampana’s family drama has now grossed around ₱33 million in 3 days, according to the studio. The film opened to a solid ₱10.5 million last Wednesday, November 12. It wouldn’t be surprising if the film reaches around ₱55 million by the end of the week. From Laoag to Davao, the film has been receiving solid attendance across regions—a good sign for this original title.

The latest flick from the powerhouse studio had all the right ingredients prepared: a solid ensemble that appeals to different demographics, a family-driven premise, and a director known for delivering box-office hits. They also strategically chose a release date similar to when Hello, Love, Again dominated last year. Marketing-wise, Star Cinema once again implemented its tried-and-tested campaign.

Like Quezon, the studio also opted not to lower the ticket price for the film, yet attendance remains good given its opening numbers. This likely cements that there won’t be any changes to Star Cinema’s pricing strategy for its upcoming entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival.
