Reality MM Studios aims to carve out its legacy in the local industry with its diverse slate for late 2025.

Twenty years ago, director Erik Matti launched Reality Entertainment Inc. The studio co-produced films such as Shake, Rattle & Roll 2k5 and Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang. It also spearheaded Matti's own features, including Rigodon, On The Job, and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2. Two decades later, under a new name, Reality MM Studios, the studio aims to carve out its place in the industry once again.

“Reality MM Studios is on a mission to cement its legacy by closing out 2025 with a slate of bold, thought-provoking, and genre-defining projects that span streaming debuts, theatrical re-releases, and unforgettable cinematic experiences,” according to their official press release.

The studio kicked off its return by releasing some of its films on Netflix. Seklusyon and Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital both made solid showings on the streaming platform, landing in the top ten most-watched movies in the country during their debut weeks. As of this writing, Strange Frequencies ranks third on the local chart.

Reality MM Studios also partnered with Studio Ghibli in a surprising but welcome collaboration to re-release Ghibli’s iconic animated films in celebration of the studio’s 40th anniversary. With SM Cinema and marketing partner Lunchbox PH, on-ground activations were staged in various locations to create a fully immersive experience.

The studio also re-released a new version of Honor Thy Father for its 10th anniversary on September 17. A newly composed musical score now accompanies the critically acclaimed thriller, which is presented in black and white. According to Matti during a talkback for the film, this was the original vision for the 2015 release.

“As 2025 enters its final quarter, Reality isn’t slowing down. It’s breaking through one story, one screen, one unforgettable moment at a time.”

Upcoming streaming releases include their horror film Kuwaresma (September 25) and Jinky Channel (September 27), both premiering on YouTube. The studio is set to cap off the year with an entry in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival, which if the buzz is to be believed signals a return to original Filipino narratives that combine commercial appeal with auteur-level execution, the very kind of storytelling Reality has become known for championing. Now, audiences and industry professionals await the outcome.
