KimPau's 'My Love Will Make You Disappear' debuts with 1.5 million global views on Netflix

Make money in theaters. Rack up solid viewership on streaming. Star Cinema does both once again with My Love Will Make You Disappear.

The Chad Vidanes-directed romance received 1.5 million views during its debut week (July 7-13, 2025) on Netflix. The solid figure aligns with recent local films that premiered on the streaming service, including Un/Happy For You (2 million) and Balota (1.4 million), though it falls short of the studio's recent juggernauts Hello, Love, Again (3.5 million), and And The Breadwinner Is...(2.6 million).

Nevertheless, it's another strong testament for Star Cinema that they can deliver a box office and streaming hit which is vital, as theatrical releases arguably generate more revenue for the studio. This film, for instance, grossed ₱173 million in sales.

In the film, Sari (Kim Chiu), a woman who loses every man she loves, and Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a struggling landlord, cross paths as they strive to save a community from displacement.

The number is also enough for the film to place in the global non-English movie chart during the tracking week, placing seventh. The film was also able to secured a top ten placing on three more markets: Bahrain, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates.

Another local film premiered solidly week on the service, as Sakaling Hindi Makarating placed ninth in the most-watched movies chart in the country. Co-written, shot, co-produced, and directed by Ice Idanan in her directorial debut, the film stars Alessandra De Rossi. This is a very good performance for an independent film released back in 2016 during the CineFilipino Film Festival.

In the film, Celia (de Rossi), an artist, receives a string of anonymous postcards after her failed engagement and travels across the Philippines to track down the sender.

Ranking fifth this week, Kim Molina-Jerald Napoles' romcom Un-Ex You continues to be strong in the local market. Meanwhile, Vice Ganda dramedy And The Breadwinner Is... secures a slot on the chart for the second consecutive week.
