'Transformers One' drops at box office; 'Hello, Love, Again' presales strong

Box office has calmed once again as moviegoers wait for the next set of anticipated titles. In a surprising turn of events, Transformers One mirrored the drop it saw in the American box office last weekend (September 25-30, 2024). The bigger story, however, remains the anticipation for Hello, Love, Again which is doing well in presales and people watching classic MMFF films for a cheaper ticket price.

Transformers One and Hello, Love, Again

The animated version of Transformers collected est. $160K (₱9 million) during its second week play in the country. That is a rough 62 percent drop from its $430K debut last week which is similar to the drop it had in the United States. This drop suggests that longevity could not happen to One.

SineSigla also returned this week in various cinemas across the country. Filipinos have been sharing their experience with the event sold at a lower ticket price on social media. Metro Manila Film Festival, however, has not released a box office total performance for the said event.

Fueled by fans excited to see the highly anticipated sequel first, Hello, Love, Again saw impressive figures in early presales. In SM North EDSA, the film has already sold over ₱66K on a 7PM screening - the only regular showtime available to purchase online. In SM Megamall, four showtimes currently available has already contributed ₱41K. SM Cinema, Ayala Malls Cinemas, & Megaworld Cinemas have also announced that they will hold midnight screenings for the film's opening on November 13.

Now sold at ₱400 in some urban-located SM Cinemas, ticket prices also increased slightly for the film as the dynamic pricing experiment continues to be implemented in the country. CBO will officially track the film's presales one week before its release date.

Deadpool & Wolverine actually enjoyed a 3 percent increase this week, grossing $3,114 for a 10-week total of $7,793,489. Inside Out 2 added $3,372 on its 16th week - a run almost unheard of in the country. Nearing the end of its run, Speak No Evil collected $3,048 on its third week for a total of $150,044.
