Back-to-back solid drops from 'Lilo & Stitch' as 'Ballerina' kicks off June

The Disney crowd in the Philippines is coming back to the cinemas as Lilo & Stitch posted another solid drop at the box office. However, the live-action adaptation wasn't actually the top movie during the week of June 4-8, 2025, as Ballerina kicked off what could be another healthy month for the industry.

Viewers Choice Philippines reported that the John Wick spinoff topped the box office since it opened on June 4. Unfortunately, there are no official reports yet for the Ana De Armas-led film. John Wick - Chapter 4 opened to $2 million back in 2023 and closed its run around $3.6 million. It's likely that the spinoff opened under the fourth-quel, given how it performed on its home market and the pre-sales we've tracked in the country.

Returning to the little blue creature, Lilo & Stitch grossed $684K (₱38 million) on its third week, down only 34 percent from the previous week. That second week ($1 million) was just a 27 percent drop from its opening week. In three weeks, it has now grossed $3.8 million in the country which makes it the highest-grossing film distributed by Disney this year so far.

Thunderbolts* added $3.7K on its sixth week for a total of $3.16 million.
