'Sosyal Climbers' debuts to 2 million views globally on Netflix; 'Hello, Love, Again' & 'Balota' still in top ten

Filipino audiences are watching Filipino movies. For this week (Feb. 24-Mar. 2, 2025), Sosyal Climbers even made a statement on Netflix's global non-English movie chart while Hello, Love, Again and Balota continue to be in the country's weekly most watched films.

The new Jason Paul Laxamana-directed feature opened to 2 million global views on the streaming service (equivalent to 3.4 million hours viewed). This is a solid opening for the Netflix original movie starring Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings.

In the film, stuck with a massive debt after falling for a scam, two wannabe socialites create elaborate fake identities to swindle the rich out of their money.

Hello, Love, Again took a dive during this tracking week but still big enough to place in the top ten. The Kathryn Bernardo-Alden Richards romantic drama placed sixth and can likely stay in the chart for a few more weeks.

In the sequel, after fighting for their love to conquer time, distance and a global shutdown that keeps them apart, Joy and Ethan meet again in Canada but realize that they have also changed a lot, individually.

Balota also continues to secure a spot on Philippines' top film chart. This week the Marian Rivera-led thriller placed 10th on the chart.

In the film, a teacher puts her life on the line to protect a ballot box full of crucial votes as corrupt forces threaten to overturn a key local election. Film also stars Will Ashley, Nico Antonio, Royce Cabrera, Raheel Bhyria, Sue Prado, Sassa Gurl, Esnyr Ranollo, Donna Cariaga, Joel Saracho, Gardo Versoza, & Mae Paner.
