Japan Foundation, Manila has just released the 2025 lineup for the annual Japanese Film Festival, Philippines on their social media page earlier this Wednesday, January 8 which featured some familiar titles.
Here's the official lineup:
- Godzilla Minus One (2023)
Post-war Japan is at its lowest point when a new crisis emerges in the form of a giant monster, baptized in the horrific power of the atomic bomb.
- Perfect Days (2023)
Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo, lives his life in simplicity and daily tranquility. Some encounters also lead him to reflect on himself.
- Akira (1988)
A secret military project endangers Neo-Tokyo when it turns a biker gang member into a rampaging psychic psychopath who can only be stopped by a teenager, his gang of biker friends and a group of psychics.
- Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle (2024)
Shoyo Hinata joins Karasuno high school's volleyball team to emulate his idol, the Little Giant; but he has to team up with Tobio Kageyama, his former rival.
- Sand Land (2023)
The world has become a desolate desert called SandLand, inhabited by humans and demons.

A lifelong Yakuza, released from prison after 13 years, journeys to find the mother who abandoned him as a child. He is hindered by his gangster past and struggles to adapt to his new life outside of prison.
