With still a few weeks away before the start of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), SM Cinema just announced today, December 8 that tickets for this year's entries on opening day are now up for sale.

The country's largest exhibitor is betting on the A-listers to bring in the audiences on Christmas Day. Based on early counts, Jun Lana's And The Breadwinner Is… starring Vice Ganda will have the widest release on Christmas at SM Cinemas. This is unsurprising given how Vice Ganda dominated the festival for many years. While her last entry Partners in Crime back in 2022 did not take the crown box office-wise (the title went to Deleter), it was still able to open on top on Christmas.
This is followed by Uninvited, The Kingdom, and Espantaho all of which are led by A-listers such as Vilma Santos, Nadine Lustre, Vic Sotto, and Judy Ann Santos. The screen count may change depending on demand, word-of-mouth, and marketing campaigns throughout the festival.
